Culinard in Baton Rouge visits The Guest House

Oct 1, 2014

On Thursday, September 11, 2014, the students of Culinard visited The Guest House, a local nursing home, as part of their community outreach program.

The students delivered 200 cookies that they made and decorated for the residents.

It was a joy to watch the students interact with the residents.  Stories were exchanged, questions were asked, and lives were touched.

Afterwards, several students mentioned meeting a couple that had been married 44 years and were amazed that they were still together, even in the nursing home.

The activities director was very excited to form the relationship and has asked our students to return to do cooking demos or other interactive events. It will also afford the students an opportunity to gain public speaking and presentation skills for their future endeavors.
