Competition and collaboration at Birmingham’s Culinard

Culinary arts students from three Birmingham high schools recently visited Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, to compete in the Golden Spoon Competition. The "Iron Chef"-style contest was sponsored by Golden Corral and Culinard.

Culinard recently participated in “Corks & Chefs,” an event sponsored by the Magic City Art Connection. This event is an annual fundraising collaboration between Birmingham chefs, local vintners and Birmingham’s arts community.

Culinard students, led by Chef Instructor John Wilson, produced 500 tasting portions of Braised Lamb Cupcakes with Wasabi Mash and Rhubarb Chutney.
